Nairobi, Kenya — October 1st 2025 – Africa Sports Ventures Group (ASVG) and Parallel South have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to launch the Green Sports Initiative, a pioneering program designed to integrate environmental sustainability into the African sports ecosystem.
The partnership will begin with the Legends Track & Field Series, officially launching on November 6, 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya. The series will serve as the flagship vehicle for implementing sustainability practices across sports, setting a new standard for environmentally conscious event management in Africa.
The Green Sports Initiative focuses on:

Eliminating single-use plastics through Recycling and converting plastic waste into energy.

The Legends Track & Field Series, anchored by legendary African athletes including Mary Onyali (Nigeria), Samuel Matete (Zambia), Fabrice Zango (Burkina Faso), and Eunice Barber (Sierra Leone/France), will showcase world-class performances while pioneering green innovation in sports.
This MOU marks the beginning of a continent-wide effort to position Africa as a leader in the global Green Sports Movement.
